covey and Relevance AI

An AI workforce as a cloud service, and one you run yourself.

Last checked: 29 September 2026, against Relevance AI's website. If something here is out of date, tell us and we will correct it.

Relevance AI presents itself with “Specialist AI Agents for Every Task”. With Workforce it offers teams of agents that “collaborate like human employees”, built without code and run in its cloud. The idea is close to covey's: agents with roles, working like staff.

Relevance AI is a closed service, so almost everything we can say about it comes from its own website. Those rows are marked as vendor claims. About the parts that are not public, how agents are isolated or how secrets are handled, we say nothing.

Also different

A workplace per agent
A covey agent works in its own container with a file system, a browser, Git and build tools, which is why coding agents such as Claude Code are its main case.
What can be checked
covey's isolation, secrets broker and egress proxy are in its public source code. The egress allowlist is on by default with the docker sandbox provider; sandboxes on remote runners are not covered yet.

Where Relevance AI is ahead

  • Nothing to operate. Business teams can build agents themselves.
  • The breadth of integrations, templates for sales and support, evals and A/B tests.
  • A funded company with a support organisation, certifications and reference customers.

Which one fits

Relevance AI

Choose Relevance AI if you want agents without running anything yourself, your systems are SaaS tools, and business teams should build the agents.

covey

Choose covey if agents need access to internal systems that should not face the internet, need a real workplace with a file system, browser and Git, or if your security team wants to read the code that sets the limits.
